Lance Minoru Makinano is an accomplished Senior Program Manager with Volunteers of America Los Angeles, and has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the well-being of homeless Veterans, successfully housing over 6,000 Veterans and placing more than 1,250 Veterans and their families into gainful employment.
Lance specializes in project management, resource optimization, and stakeholder collaboration, and has worked closely with Federal, State, County, City, and Local agencies to tackle the complex issues of homelessness and employment, particularly for veterans.
Lance has been instrumental in connecting Veterans with critical support services such as claims assistance, medical support, and housing programs like HUD-VASH. He has a deep understanding of what Veterans face as Lance served 8 years in the US Army serving in the Gulf War and was awarded the Army Achievement Medal.
